Child Development

The child development and adolescent behavioral pediatrics program with Children's of Mississippi offers comprehensive initial and follow-up services for children and adolescents ages birth to 17 who have problems in the area of development, learning, behavior or emotion. The program receives more than 300 referrals a month from doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers.

A multidisciplinary approach incorporating medical, psychological and social components is used to evaluate each child's medical well-being as well as learning and psychosocial issues. The care team includes members who specialize in specific ages and conditions.

Our clinical team includes developmental pediatricians with certification in development and behavioral pediatrics, licensed pediatric psychologists, licensed and certified social workers and behavior therapists.
